Worker Burned in Fire at Alabama Oil Facility

On Saturday, an oil field worker in Alabama suffered severe burns at an oil facility. The incident occurred Saturday morning just outside of Flomaton. The injured worker was taken to a nearby hospital in Pensacola, Florida before being transported to the USA Burn Center in nearby Mobile. Due to inclement weather, a medical helicopter was unavailable for use.

The burn came as a result of a fire that broke out at the facility. It is not yet known what the root cause of the fire is, but firefighters who arrived on scene stated that a large oil container was burning. Volunteer fire departments from Flomaton, Pineview, and Friendship were able to put out the blaze. The name and condition of the injured worker have not been released.
